About
Agent Protocols is an independent educational site about two open protocols for AI agents: MCP and A2A. It is not affiliated with the MCP or A2A projects.
Why it exists
Search interest in this topic is real and growing. In US Google Ads data (via DataForSEO, through about September 2026), "a2a vs mcp" and "mcp vs a2a" together draw roughly 1,000 searches a month, and "agent to agent protocol" about 880. Most results are text posts from 2025. This site tries to be a current, concrete explanation with something you can run.
Where facts come from
Content is checked against a2a-protocol.org and modelcontextprotocol.io. Both specifications are changing. Each page says when it was checked, and uncertain statements are marked unverified.
The demo
The demo is a scripted simulation in your browser. It is not a production A2A server and makes no network calls.
For machines
Plain text versions: llms.txt, comparison, A2A, validator, MCP.
